Party North, Party South, and Party in between

A few weeks ago, I forgot to post these photo of me and my oh-so-cute-can't-believe-he's-8 nephew!  Love him!  It was on his birthday.  I snagged a photo of him in between the pool swim times. 

Please disregard how tan he is and how tan I'm not.  I blame it on me slaving away in a window-less office while he spent his summer floating in the pool.

Saturday night, Miss SRA and I headed south for Mr. BALL's house party.  So much fun.  And I did happen to meet his cute friends.  I may be in Austin a little more - j/k.  But of course Ranger was there and adorable as ever. 

I think he liked having everyone there.  Before the party, we grabbed dinner at Central Market (something I miss from the Fort).  The patio had live music.  Between that and the somewhat slight breeze and shade, it was actually bearable to eat outside. 

Who needs to stop with just one party? Mr. New Tennis Bear came over with some other friends of his. So fun to chat with these lovelies! I'm glad they're apart of our town.

Droplets, Wrong Earrings, and Newest Citizen

It was a gloomy Saturday morning that had potential of grey skies and gloom all day.  As I was driving, these strange things starting falling from the sky. 

At first I thought the sky was falling, but it looked like someone left a leaky faucet on.  These little things starting appearing on my windshield - almost gave me hope for a downpour.  But have no fear, I didn't get to turn on my wipers nor utilize my umbrella.  sad!  Still praying for more.

Remember a few weeks ago when I accidentally wore the wrong shoes.  Well, I did it again, only this time I wore two different pairs of earrings. 

Now it may not look that different from an untrained eye.  But those are different pairs.  One day I'll get everything in order, right?

Also, we had a visitor once again who is now a resident of our fine city for the next four years.

YAY!  Sic'em Mr. M!  Let me also say it's brought back a lot of memories from when I moved to college.  I was terrified and tried not to show it the day I moved into my dorm.  I attempted to possess a brave face and not tear up/cry when I said goodbye to my parents.  (My mother on the other hand didn't quite make it down the hall without bursting into tears)  And don't worry mom, I did miss you terribly and cry for homesickness......eventually ;-)  But I met wonderful people in my college years like Miss KAM on my hall.  YAY for our ghetto hall and loud, obnoxious neighbors!  Some days I miss it, while others I'm glad it's behind me for it shaped who I have become.

Change, Ms. Daisy, and Liability

For the past six months I've been eyeing these particular curtains for my office.  The price just kept steering me away and thinking I'd find better.  So, I've searched other places but nothing has suited my taste except those.  So I finally bit the bullet this week and purchased the curtains.  Before:

Aren't they so pretty?!  I love them!  It really does brighten up the room!  YAY!

Ms Daisy (the new name for my roommate) is quite hilarious.  Most of you know what I mean.  I received an email containing an interview with my cousin.  Ms Daisy desperately wanted to see it, but the internet wasn't loading correctly out in the country.  I half-thought we could run over to the library to see it if she was that desperate to see it.  At first she said no.  Then changed her mind.  So here's a photo of Ms Daisy at the library watching the presentation/interview.  No words.

This week I also obtained some additional liability.  I am now legit.  I applied for and was approved for malpractice insurance.  Oh vey.  This means that I have professional insurance in case someone ever wants to sue me (I don't know why anyone would though)

Up High: Parentals in town!

Down Low: NONE of my clients showed up this week!  NONE!  This does NOT help me get my needed hours for licensure!

Sightings, Tables, and Birds

Last Friday I went to Walmart and right as I was climbing out of my car - I spotted this:

Yes, it's the one and only Passat.  My passat.  The one I sold merely a month ago.  My first car.  The one I purchased with all my hard-earned money.  I had heard someone had purchased it after I traded it in.  I was surprised it still had the faded baylor logo on it along with the scuff marks on the front driver's side wheel.  While it was good to see my ol' friend - I was grateful to be driving away in my cozy new reliable ride.  I still love it!

I think I mentioned last week how I was hosting a dinner party/game night for my small group.  As most of you know, I'm kinda  a plan-ahead person.  So I set my table, laid out the dishes I was going to cook in, silverware to serve, etc all on Friday night. 

 

 So how did my table look like?

 A little thing called A/C.  Late Friday night, we realized the house wasn't cooling as it should be and soon realized it was broken.  WHAT?!  Oh vey!  But my fabulously-wonderful-can't-thank-enough neighbors stepped in and allowed to party to occur at their home instead.  YAY!  So grateful they were willing to let me crash their house with my party.  It was fun and everyone I think was grateful to have A/C in the end.

I even made this tasty cake! YUM! It was my mom's lemonade cake so the cool and creamy dessert was a nice ending to a hot meal.

Before the party went off, we got some visitors.  Ones I had only seen a few of, and never in droves.

 Can you seen them?

 It's quite breath-taking actually.  They were ALL over the yard and pasture.  Hundreds of them.  Thousands of them.  So many only God could count them!  Rumor has it they were eating those grasshoppers.  Well by all means, FEAST!  Eat UP!
